Project Amichai

The Dream Fund proudly introduces Project Amichai to the Gulf Coast – Project Amichai is a healing and renewal initiative dedicated to supporting Israelis whose lives have been deeply impacted by war and loss. Through immersive retreats in Sarasota, Florida, the program provides space for restoration, connection, and rebuilding—transforming grief into strength and memory into living legacy.

Our inaugural program is launched in partnership with Israel Alliance’s Widows of Warriors, welcoming widows of fallen Israeli soldiers for a 12-day healing retreat. While this first cohort focuses on widows, Project Amichai was created with a broader vision: to continue expanding these programs to support additional Israelis affected by the war, including families of fallen soldiers, IDF soldiers, and others carrying the emotional weight of loss and trauma.

Our Purpose

When a soldier gives their life defending Israel, their legacy lives on through the strength of the family they leave behind. Yet once public ceremonies fade, many families face isolation, trauma, and uncertainty alone.
Project Amichai answers that call—offering not only rest, but renewal. The program nurtures emotional, spiritual, and communal healing while empowering participants to rebuild purpose, identity, and stability for themselves and their children.

The Program Experience

Hosted in Sarasota, Florida, participants are welcomed into a peaceful, nurturing environment designed for reflection and growth. The retreat experience includes:

  • Healing through storytelling and guided trauma-informed dialogue

  • Creative expression through art, music, and culinary experiences

  • Wellness and renewal including mindfulness practices, yoga, and nature walks

  • Community and connection through shared projects with local families and artists

  • Cultural bridge-building that fosters meaningful relationships between Israeli guests and the Sarasota community

  • Empowerment and life planning to encourage resilience, independence, and long-term growth

Why It Matters

Project Amichai strengthens both the people of Israel and the bonds of Jewish unity worldwide. Each participant leaves emotionally renewed, spiritually supported, and empowered to move forward—carrying not only the memory of their loved one, but their mission.

For supporters and partners, Project Amichai is not an act of charity—it is an act of continuity. It is a commitment to honoring sacrifice, strengthening families, and building a future rooted in shared responsibility and destiny.

Looking Ahead

The March 2026 retreat marks the first step in a growing, sustainable model. Future phases will expand to include additional widows, families, and eventually widows and children together—laying the foundation for long-term healing, intergenerational resilience, and enduring connections between Israel and the diaspora.

Project Amichai is about more than one program or one group of participants. It is about building a legacy for the many heroes who make up Am Yisrael—and ensuring that their families are never forgotten.

This is Project Amichai. Healing. Legacy. Renewal.
